B3 has created a new field to allow the issuance of bonds with electronic signature and facilitate agribusiness credit processes

The Agricultural Certificate of Deposit (CDA) and the Agricultural Warrant (WA) can now be issued with an electronic signature, a new procedure introduced by Law 14,421/22 to simplify financial funding and finance Brazilian agribusiness.

In keeping with regulatory demands, B3 has updated the CDA/WA log file and screen to include this option. The new format is now identified in the “digital/electronic” field and has the same security and quality standard as conventional registration.

The Agricultural Certificate of Deposit (CDA) and the Agricultural Warrant (WA) are credit bonds that represent the promise of delivery of agricultural products.

The CDA has replaced the “bill of deposit”, while the WA is a bond that grants the right to pledge the goods described in the corresponding CDA. The CDA and WA can be guaranteed by bank collateral or insurance, and traded jointly or separately. They are taxed as financial assets exempt of IOF (Tax on Financial Operations).
