BLOK11: New Cryptocurrency ETF Allows Investing in Smart Contracts
Technology linked to cryptocurrencies is a key part of the cryptocurrency universe
On Wednesday, June 22, Investo asset manager will launch a new ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) on B3 for investors wishing to diversify their investments in cryptoassets.
BLOK11 - Investo Smart Contract is an index fund that replicates in Brazil the performance of MVIS CryptoCompare Smart Contract Leaders Brazil (MVSCBR), an index designed to keep track of the appreciation of the country’s largest and most liquid smart contract assets.
Smart contracts are a key part of the smooth running of trades in the cryptocurrency universe. They are computer protocols of a digital nature that sign contracts between two anonymous parties and store this data in a public ledger. Unlike paper-signed contracts, smart contracts are self-executing and cannot be tampered with or misplaced, nor do they have interpretation issues.
With BLOK11, investors will gain a practical tool to acquire the major currencies linked to digital contracts all at once without having to leave the Exchange environment or take currency risk. This basket of assets contains some top cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum and Cardano, which together account for more than 50% of the current index composition*.
*Values from June 1st, 2022.
BLOK11 is managed by BNP Paribas Bank Brazil and the portfolio is rebalanced monthly.
