The use of blockchain has been gaining ground in the services provided by the world's leading stock exchanges and is also underway at B3.

We will soon be launching a new query engine for B3 Central Depository using DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology), which is similar to blockchain and is currently more widely known.

The new query module will allow custody agents to consume account movement and balance data at B3 Central Depository in near real time.

There will be no change to the other means of consuming this data, i.e., DLT will be an additional and optional query engine.

DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) allows the registration and storage of transactions in a distributed ledger among participants. It brings resilience, security and agility to the process of querying account movements and balance at B3 Central Depository. B3 will make data available in near real time to participants who choose to use the DLT tool, making queries more efficient.

Custody agents can query B3 Central Depository's account movements and balance via API through their own node or connected to a B3 node. This is an additional query functionality and current data consumption methods will not be changed.
