B3 expands post-trade processing capacity
As part of the improvements B3 is making to its systems, it will implement block trade capture in RTC (Real Time Clearing), B3 Clearinhouse’s post-trade service.
The improvement will expand post-trade processing capacity allowing the grouping of trades with similar characteristics as instrument type, price, trading date, automated trading session, nature of trade, participant and account. Additional rules will be included in B3 Clearinghouse's Operating Procedures Manual (MPO).
The chief goal of this project is to enable the Clearinhouse to capture up to 100 million trades in a single trading session.

Expanding Post-Trade Capacity
The improvement will expand post-trade processing capacity with the purpose of reaching 100 million trades in a single trading session in the future.
Currently, each trade executed in the PUMA Trading System needs to be sent individually to the RTC (Real Time Clearing) post-trade system. Through the new project, this will be done in blocks according to the similarity of the trade characteristics.
For this grouping, the following will be considered: instrument type, price, trading date, automated trading session, nature of trade, participant and account. For this, a pre-capture trade system will be created to group trades with similar characteristics into one. All criteria for trade aggregation will be disclosed in the B3 Clearinghouse Operating Procedures Manual (MPO).
At first, the improvement will cover mini-contract deals generated by an automated session.
RTC (Real Time Clearing), B3 Clearinhouse‘s post-trade service, performs the registration, acceptance, clearing, settlement and counterparty risk management of derivatives, commodities, equity and fixed income trades, as well as securities lending trades.
