ISIN Automatic Generation

An ISIN code will be assigned whenever an institution issues CDBs and Financial Bills to institutional investors.

We are continually making improvements to help serve the needs of our clients and bring greater operational efficiency to the market. For this, we have automated the ISIN (International Securities Identification Number) generation process for issuing CDBs and Financial Bills to institutional investors.

ISIN is an international standard that is used to identify financial securities. Each security is assigned a unique alphanumeric code formed by 12 characters that designate the country of origin, the issuer, the security type, category and the identification of each asset, thus streamlining management of the process and speeding up trades by resident and nonresident investors. B3 is the Brazilian numbering agency and is the only institution authorized to assign ISINs for financial securities in Brazil.

How it will work

The ISIN code generation system and the (NoMe) OTC system will communicate at preset times during the day. This will eliminate the need to access two different platforms and streamline the ISIN code generation process.

The ISIN code will be automatically assigned for CDBs and Financial Bills issued on behalf of investment funds, open-end and close-end private pension funds, insurance companies, nonresident investors and health plan operators.

The service will be available from June 29 for institutions previously registered on the ISIN system, without additional costs and without the need for prior contracting.
