Trade Bill Validation Will Be Done before Its Registration

Besides the validation of trade bills, B3 will also implement rules to assess and monitor invoices given as collateral.

The trade bill validation functionality will be added to the credit rights module on the NoMe platform. Before registering any Mercantile Trade Bill, the system will make a query with the Brazilian Inland Revenue Office, which will return important data for decision making. The query is initiated through the NF-e Access Key, which is informed prior to registration. Based on the return, participants may choose the trade bills they wish to trade. These trade bills are then registered.

B3 began registering trade bills in 2019 by providing its infrastructure used in the registration of bonds, securities, derivatives and other instruments to the market. It also started to offer services such as cash settlement and custody position of registered trade bills. Therefore, B3 is helping boost the development of Brazil’s credit market, which has been undergoing several structural and legal changes.

The NoMe platform provides infrastructure to the OTC market and comprises registration, deposit, trading, and settlement activities, among others.
