PEVC11: New ETF Is Focused on Alternative Assets

ETF tracks the performance of the 10 largest and most liquid alternative asset managers listed on the US stock exchange

On Wednesday, August 31, Investo asset manager will make a new ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) available at B3. PEVC11 is an index fund that invests in companies abroad that generate at least 75% of their income or operating assets from management or investment in alternative assets, such as privately held companies (private equity or venture capital) or real estate assets/infrastructure.

The fund concentrates its investments in the 10 largest and most liquid alternative asset managers listed on the US stock exchange. In practice, this is done by composing an investment portfolio that replicates the BlueStar Top 10 US Listed Alternative Asset Managers Index.

With this new product, Brazilian investors have an easy and practical way to diversify their portfolio into assets that they would hardly have access to if they chose to invest individually. As well as alternative assets, by buying this ETF investors can also diversify into currencies and dollarize part of their equity.

To carry out this investment, you just need to have an account with a brokerage house or financial institution eligible to trade equities with B3. Purchase and redemption are made via home broker and sale must be followed by the payment of a DARF whose value is 15% on any possible capital gain.

The PEVC11 ETF is managed and held in custody by BTG Pactual and the portfolio is rebalanced every six months.

B3 strongly recommends that each investor should properly assess their investment profile, risk appetite and how financial market products work before acquiring any investment.

At B3 Financial Education Hub, we provide complete and free online courses for investors to deepen their knowledge of this type of investment. Click here to learn How to invest in ETFs and click here if you still don't know what ETFs are and how they work.
