In March 2023, we started a study to reduce the equity settlement cycle to T+1 in line with the main global markets trend.

The study was carried out jointly with the Post-Trade Advisory Committee and aims to map impacts and opportunities for improving post-trade processes to enable a safe transition in the Brazilian market.

The settlement cycle is now two business days from the transaction to its settlement. Until May 2019, this cycle was 3 days.
The quest for constant evolution of B3’s systems reinforces our commitment to investors and Brazilian financial institutions to seeking an increasingly efficient market.
The discussions and designs of the new settlement cycle in this study will be done in working groups with the active participation of B3’s Post-Trade Advisory Committee and market representatives.
