Binary Trading Gateway
New Order Entry Gateway version will be optimized to include binary protocol
With the evolution of trading mechanisms and especially automated solutions, the market has become more demanding in terms of performance and equity levels of B3's trading systems. The concept of order routing algorithm is now essential.
Therefore, B3 will implement a new Order Entry Gateway version using a binary protocol. The new model will be called Binary Gateway.
Additionally, tools and functionalities will be implemented to optimize the use of B3's trading environment both for internal users and for market participants.

SBE and FIX Binary Protocols

Simple Binary Encoding (SBE) is a FIX standard for encoding binary messages developed by the CME Group and the FPL High Performance Work Group aimed at optimizing the exchange of financial data to disseminate high-volume, low-latency data. Compared to FAST (former encoding standard), the SBE protocol is simpler and faster to encode and decode.
The FIX protocol, which is currently used for trading at B3, will be maintained for participants who decide not to switch to the SBE protocol.
